WELCOME!
I’m Dr. Gila
(rhymes with “tequila”)
I help single parents raise resilient kids.
I’ve even got a free video to help YOU reframe, reset, and re-ground the next time the proverbial s**t hits the fan.
As a Certified Parent Coach, I offer personalized coaching to help parents handle the hard stuff & build strong, healthy relationships with their kids AND themselves.
As a single mom myself, I have a special interest in supporting other single parents on this often bumpy journey.
My motto is:
Even if you're on your own,
You don't have to do it alone.
When clients come to me, they're usually feeling...
Overwhelmed by their kids' big feelings and challenging behaviors
Guilty about snapping, yelling, threatening, or shutting down
Worried about how their single parenthood affects their kids
We all want to feel confident, and raise thriving, resilient kids.
The secret?
Harness the power of your child’s greatest asset: YOU!
What if you could...
Parent with confidence and clarity, based on your values and vision (even if it's different than how you were raised)
Giggle, snuggle, and actually enjoy parenthood (at least some of the time!)
Handle big, intense feelings (theirs and yours!) without compromising connection
Have less conflict and fewer tantrums and meltdowns in your family
Raise kids who are confident, well adjusted, and actually want to talk to you (even as adults!)
That's what I help parents do.
I can help you:
Tame your triggers and embrace your own parenting voice
Understand your child, their behavior, and how to support them
Learn practical tools for navigating hard parenting moments
Build strong, respectful relationships with your children that carry into adulthood
Enjoy parenthood (...at least some of the time!)
So glad you're here!
I'm Dr. Gila (rhymes with "tequila" 🍸).
I’m a psychologist and neuropsychologist, but none of my fancy degrees fully prepared me to handle some of the challenges of single parenting a strong-willed kiddo.
I dove head-first into the parenting research and discovered powerful tools for my own family.
Along the way, I discovered a passion for helping other parents too.
Now, as a Jai-Certified Parent Coach and certified Clini-Coach®, I help parents find their mojo, empowering them to harness their - and their children’s - strengths to build strong, healthy relationships filled with connection, respect, and trust.
There are 3 important things you should know about who I am, and who I am not:
I am a parent; I am not a perfect parent.
I like to think of myself as perfectly imperfect. (As are you.) Parenting is always a work in progress - a dynamic growth process that I actively and imperfectly embrace every day. And I’m grateful for that. (Usually.)
I am a certified parent coach; I am not a prophet, and what I say is not doctrine.
Yes, there are specific tools and strategies I will teach you, and yes, my knowledge and experience can help you with this process. But all of that is to support you on your own path, not to pull you along on mine.
I am a psychologist and neuropsychologist; I am not your psychologist or neuropsychologist.
Coaching is not therapy, and I can’t offer clinical assessment or treatment when working with someone as a coach.
This means I can’t and won’t diagnose you or your child with a clinical disorder (like depression, anxiety, PTSD, or ADHD), and I can’t and won’t try to treat a clinical disorder.
Coaching can be done in combination with therapy, and, when appropriate, I would be happy to support you as a coach while you're working with someone else for therapy.
All work with me begins with a free consult!
This way you can ask me all your questions about the coaching process and we can get to know one another a bit.

Dr. Gila has been amazing!
She is able to make connections between my parenting and my own history and core beliefs, and has educated me on my kids’ brain development, which has been so transformative for how I engage with them.
And yet, our sessions are also entirely targeted and practical.
I am so grateful to have Dr. Gila in my corner and in my head!
I’ve been able to bring more love, positivity, respect, and playfulness into my interactions with my kids.
And I’ve been able to weather and bounce back from the less ideal interactions without feeling as demoralized.
Lauren, Single parent by choice (2 kids)
Dr. Gila is wise and compassionate in her parent coaching.
She’s an excellent listener, and gives guidance that’s attuned to the individual quirks of a particular parent-child relationship rather than falling back on general platitudes.
Plus, she has a great sense of humor and is an all-around nice person.
Highly recommended!
Andrew, Divorced dad (2 kids)
