How To Get Traffic To Your Blog

If you want to get organic (free) traffic to your blog, you need to understand SEO. particularly Google SEO. When you are thinking about what to write you need to understand what people are searching for, then write for those keyword phrases. Otherwise you will be writing for no-one.

Some people prefer to use social media (Facebook, Instagram, Pintrest etc) to drive traffic to their blog. This is a good idea if you don't want to get into SEO, although this is not something we cover here.

If you are in a hurry and have a little cash to burn, you can use paid advertising to drive traffic to your blog. Google or Facebook ads are the favorites. I prefer to use Google ads to drive traffic to blog posts. The research for this is similar to organic SEO. I would also recommend that you use paid traffic to build your email list or sell something or else you could burn through a lot of money without seeing a return.

RECOMMENDED TOOL

Ubersuggest

Ubersuggest is my go to tool for Google keyword research. It's free to use and features are being added all the time.

Sales Funnels

Regardless of the traffic source you choose, you need a way to get your visitors, viewers or listeners to join your email list and ultimately to buy your products and services.  That is where sales funnel comes in.

The good news is that they are pretty easy to build if you have the right software tools. A sales funnel usually starts with a landing page where you can present a free offer in exchange for your visitor's email address.  This offer is referred to as a leadmagnet and is typically a cheat sheet, free guide or even a mini-course.  This is followed up with a series of emails that you write to provide your audience with valuable information and eventually offer them something to purchase.

It is important to think about your sales funnel process before you even start creating content.
