Initiated into the first priesthood class of the Ausar Auset society by the Shekhem Ur Shekhem, Dr. Ra Un Nefer Amen I, Ur Auat Meter Arit has served as a powerful teacher, counselor and leader for more than 30 years. In 2012 she was enstooled as Ur Auat (Paramount Queen Mother) of the Chicago Regional branch of Ausar Auset Society where she serves, trains and develops the membership and Priesthood of her region.
Nationally, she has mentored study groups and taught a number of topics on spirituality (meditation, oracles, Qi Gong, spiritual relationships, the Kamitic tradition’s relevance and importance for modern living.…) as well as providing spiritual counseling.
Malidelphia
Malidelphia is a folkloric performance-art concert that serves to create a bridge between African immigrant and African-American communities through traditional and contemporary song, dance, music, masquerade and folklore. Malidelphia is an ensemble of African and African American professional artists, singers, dancers, and folklorists. Our work is inspired by Ira Bond and his multiple experiences in Mali, West Africa while growing up in Philadelphia.
The name “Malidelphia” refers to the connection between Malian and Philadelphian cultural art forms such as Jazz, Blues, Afropop, Hip-Hop and traditional and contemporary percussion.

Dr. Salim Faraji
Kush, West Africa and the spiritual legacy of Amen
Dr. Salim Faraji is Professor and former Chair of Africana Studies at California State University, Dominguez Hills. He is also the founding Executive Director of the Master of Arts in International Studies (MAIS) Africa Program at Concordia University Irvine in Ghana, West Africa. He completed his Master of Divinity at the Claremont School of Theology and M.A. and Ph.D. at Claremont Graduate University. He is a member of the International Society for Nubian Studies and specializes in early Christian history, Africana and Africanist historiography, Coptic Studies and the Kerma, Napatan, Meroitic and Medieval periods of Nubian history. Dr. Faraji has traveled and worked extensively on the African continent in such nations as Ghana, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Ethiopia and Namibia as both a scholar and activist-humanitarian. He has served as an external reviewer for the PhD in Management Science at the Harold Pupkewitz Graduate School of Business in the Namibia University of Science and Technology. He also presents a ministerial background and has served in the United Methodist and Unitarian Universalist Churches. As a theological pluralist and interfaith practitioner he is currently an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and a practicing African Traditional Priest-Initiate who has been initiated in both the Akan traditions of Ghana, West Africa and ancient Egyptian religious practice via the Ausar Auset Society and the House of Amen.
