Your Business is Much More Than a Tagline
What makes people feel close to the businesses they like? We naturally want to engage with them. If you can create a community, you give your customers a place to do that.
This can be their locale for celebrating your business, learning about your products, getting answers to their questions, solving problems, etc. It creates a solid relationship and becomes a part of their lives.
It can cost a lot of money to run marketing and ad campaigns to attract new prospects. It’s much easier and more cost-effective to retain the existing customer than to find and get new ones.
By creating a community, you’ll give your customers a place to interact and engage with you and your business. When they feel like they can engage and are listened to, they’ll continue to buy from you. It's a great low-cost method for retaining customers and you’ll see results in your sales.
Through your community, people will interact with you personally, which is a benefit for any business. People crave this type of personal interaction, especially in an increasingly anonymous digital world.
You’ll be there with your community each day, facilitating conversations, replying to comments, asking questions, and being an all-around helpful resource. It will put the human face on your business.
Since you’re interacting with your customers personally, you’ll get all kinds of useful feedback from them about their tastes and needs. You can then offer the exact products, services, and content that they’re looking for.
And of course, my favorite reason to build your community. Your customers will naturally help you get referrals.
People will love the experience of interacting with your business directly and tell others about it. Word-of-Mouth marketing can be used to increase sales and revenues and cost very little to implement.
You can also incentivize referrals and identify your main advocates so that this happens more often. You’ll gain more exposure and multiply your marketing efforts tenfold.
Of course, none of this just happens. A community can grow by itself but it will need your attention and care if you want to accelerate the growth and keep your raving fans around.
A community naturally grows when people love a business and its products, and connect with its values.
Create a community around your business and the products or services it offers, and you’ll boost your visibility and reputation.
