1. Your Mental Model
We must start with how you're currently thinking about your Olympic lifts. What is your mental model of the Olympic Lifts? How are you currently thinking about the movement when you approach? Very often athletes have never explored the movements in this way.
2. The Key Elements of the Olympic lifts
There are key elements in the Olympic lifts that allow the technique to do a lot of work for you. Often, athletes miss completely or misunderstand these elements, which makes the Olympic lifts much more difficult.
3. Learning to Move by Feel
Overthinking is a common block for athletes in the Olympic lifts. You try to "think" your way through the movement, and this causes so many issues. You must learn to move by feel which allows you flow in your Olympic Lifts.
4. Individualized Drills
You will discover that your opportunities to improve are different from the person next to you. That is why individualized drills specific for you and your movement opportunities are the fastest way for you to improve.
5. Putting it All Together

Often, many athletes have to rush to learn these movements and don't have the support outside of class to understand them at a deeper level. This clinic will help you understand the movements at a deeper level and give you a head start on your journey.
Yes, since we're breaking down the snatch, clean, and jerk, this will help you identify the area of the movement that is currently blocking you from progressing. Athletes will receive individualized coaching for their specific skill level. You will walk away knowing exactly where to focus to continue improving your lifts.
2. What can I expect?
This depends on the athlete and their abilities. We'll only be going as heavily as you're able to move well in each drill and breakdown. This will highlight the concept of threshold training which is a key area athletes miss that leads to poor movement and frustrating results.
We will start off with introductions and some mindset work. Mindset is a huge component of success when it comes to the Olympic lifts, and often athletes experience their minds, causing much of the frustrations with their results. Then we will warm up and proceed to break down the snatch, clean, and jerk (with breaks mixed in). We will finish the day with questions and answers.
Give yourself a day of rest before the clinic. This gives your body and nervous system a fresh opportunity to come in and make adjustments with ease. If your muscles are beat up, you will be fighting the soreness as you're trying to get your body to move in a different way.
