This is the essence of the power of belief.  We MUST believe it to be true for us in order to reach our goal.

I find that many of my clients are limited by their past belief of failure.  Meaning that they have tried and failed to lose weight many times, and there is an underlying belief that they will fail again.

Fortunately I have a handy little NLP Technique that can remove this old belief so they can then get it set in their mind that they WILL lose the weight - and of course they do :)

Have you heard of the Placebo effect?  The placebo effect is defined as a phenomenon in which some people experience a benefit after taking an inactive substance that is being tested alongside a new trial drug.  A placebo is a substance with no known medical effects, such as sterile water, saline solution, or a sugar pill.

Two sets of test cases (people) are given the two different drugs.  Not  one of the test cases knows which is the placebo or which is the real drug. 

There are many documented cases where recipients have received the placebo - and because they believe they are getting the "real" drug - they experience the benefit of what the real drug was trying to achieve.

So you can see clearly, that it was only the belief of the person that actuated the benefit - not the placebo.

It's important to truly believe that you can achieve your goal.  When this is combined with all of the other strategies and keys, you are setting yourself up for success!
