Live Looping Masterclass
with David Shanhun
Is Live Looping part of your show?
Then get ready to lock in your timing, solve common issues, and create great mixes in this live workshop.
“David's shares everything he knows with a heartfelt enthusiasm and a generosity of spirit that is so rare. He meets his students where they are and is eager to become invested in their growth. I highly recommend this course.”
This masterclass is for you IF:
In this live online event we will be workshopping tools that you can practise and apply from Day 1 to improve your timing (even if you're a seasoned pro), and I will be sharing a framework that I use to get balanced loop mixes and creative ideas for loops, which you can take away with you and apply to EVERY SINGLE SONG you decide to loop in the future!
You will leave the workshop knowing:
EXACTLY what to practise to improve your timing if this has been an issue for you.
A Live Looping framework and structure that will allow you to instantly see issues in your loop builds, and to resolve them.
The ability to identify opportunities for dynamic changes in your loops, and how to record these to create great breakdown sections, and keep interest and engagement in your arrangements.
Greater confidence in your live looping and show, which means more fun for both you and your audience (and likely better tips too!).
What to show up with!
Bring your guitar (or whichever instrument you loop with) and set up your gear before this session!
We will be doing some LIVE EXPERIMENTS during this workshop that you will gain more from doing with me, as opposed to simply watching along - although you are most welcome to do that too!
You will also all receive the recording afterwards to go over these concepts and test and practise them again and again in your own time. If for some reason you can't attend the workshop live then you will still receive this full recording.
Next Workshop Date:
August 28th 11:00am NZST
Log in 5 minutes prior to our start time with your loop setup ready to go!
We'll be doing a few experiments together in the Masterclass, followed by questions and discussion sessions on what you learnt - with time at the end for individual critique & further questions.
What people said about the last Masterclass..
“David is an engaging, enthusiastic and thoughtful teacher. He taught us a number of principles that we could apply immediately, and set some practical excercises for homework. I personally found some of these out of my comfort zone, so that's good! As a result I've started to build some completely new competencies. It was time and money well spent. Thanks David.”
“What a great opportunity to learn from a Youtube looping master. David is personable, funny, very knowledgeable and a good teacher. Rather than focus on one specific technique or song, we covered more of the approach and philosophy of how to put a song together with loops, how to work on timing and sound placement, and how to interpret songs or images into clean, clear loops. If you have seen David on Youtube, and want to learn more about looping, sign up for his lessons. If you have NOT seen David on Youtube before, and want to learn more about looping, sign up for his lessons.”

Questions?
The main questions we get are covered here, but feel free to reach out if there's something else you'd like to know!
Do I need a certain type of loop pedal?
No - whichever loop pedal you are currently using will be perfect for this workshop. All skills covered in this workshop can be applied to any looping setup.
I loop using software - is this still beneficial?
Most aspects of this workshop will still be just as useful to you. There will however be a couple of specific experiments that we do that you will need to adapt slightly, or that may not specifically apply.
I can't make this date - will you be doing another one?
While I can't officially promise yes - at the moment these are scheduled for every 2-4 months.
If you cannot make this particular time you can still register and you will receive the full recording of the workshop to go over in your own time.
