Background of 10k
$10K+ under 10K was created by co-founders Chelsea + Kim, who met through the Instagram foodie community in 2020. What started as foodie friends engaging with each other’s content quickly transitioned into so much more!
Like many creators in the foodie space, their first goal was to monetize their blogs; they never realized that making money by working with brands was possible (ah, to be new!).
After learning how long it can take to make it to an ad network as food bloggers, Chelsea + Kim both realized that they could earn an income working with brands through food photography + recipe development, replace their full-time income and be their own bosses.
After months of hard work, trial and error, and a lot of help from one another, they both got serious about their desire to control their destiny and create a thriving business doing what they love most. They ditched the feeling of desperation + confusion and got rock solid in their strategies + methods when it came to working with brands, which ultimately led to thriving full time businesses in the foodie creative space.
In the Spring of 2021, and after receiving countless DMs on a weekly basis asking for tips on exactly how they mastered working with brands, the two decided to pair up to educate their foodie community on working with brands through IGTV live interviews. Creators began asking for tips on things like how to price themselves, create media kits and craft pitches and Chelsea + Kim began to notice a pattern.
Chelsea + Kim knew they wanted to do more to help their community and saw there was a gap of educational resources and mentoring for creators in the foodie space.
In July 2021, Chelsea + Kim launched $10K+ Under 10K, a unique coaching experience for bloggers, photographers and influencers in the food space. Through their coaching and course offerings, Chelsea + Kim’s goal is to help support, educate and empower other creators in the foodie space to follow their passions and make their dreams a reality, without having to piece together the endless amount of free templates, Instagram posts and generic advice in order to make it happen, through personalized coaching and offerings.
Chelsea
Chelsea is a veggie recipe creator, food photographer, influencer, and co-owner / co-coach of 10K+ under 10k and the Brand Work Boss Academy.
Chelsea began working with brands in Fall 2020 after realizing she could actually do so without being a pro photographer (she was using her iPhone!) and with under 5,000 followers on IG. What slowly started as something for fun turned into a passion. Chelsea learned (and continues to learn) how to use her DSLR camera + social media community to increase awareness and credibility for some of her favorite brands. She fell in love with the hustle of pitching brands, the creative process of creating drool-worthy photography + recipes for them, the strategic business side of it all, and, of course, that she can work from home and make $!
Prior to working in the foodie creator space, Chelsea was a litigation attorney for five years. She attended undergraduate school at the University of New Haven, where she graduated magna cum laude, then attended law school at Quinnipiac University School of Law. She graduated with her law degree in 2015 and practiced civil litigation for five (5) years. Chelsea zealously advocated for her clients + negotiated multi-million dollar lawsuits, whether it was through trials, mediation, arbitration, or settlement call.
Chelsea carries her legal background and experience into her work at 10k+ under 10k, where she passionately works with creators in the foodie space to teach them how to advocate + negotiate for fair rates through negotiation strategies. She believes everyone deserves a fair, lucrative rate no matter their follower count or expertise + assists creators in understanding their unique value by working closely with them to find methods that showcase this to a brand.
Nicknamed “the Social Media Post Queen,” Chelsea is passionate about helping creators bridge the gap between content creation + social media posts to showcase to each and every student that they can love sponsored posts. Chelsea has an “open DM” policy for 10K+ under 10K students (just allow her 48 hours to respond!).
Chelsea’s human design is a projector, meaning she loves to guide others, as well as learn new things (she is always enrolling in a new course to expand her knowledge). Chelsea lives in Fairfield County in Connecticut with her fiance, Gabe, + their three rescue pets, Louis (long-haired tuxedo kitty), Liberty (German Shepherd Mix) + Lincoln (Pit + Dauschund mix). In her free time, Chelsea is a HUGE animal lover + enjoys being in nature. She also enjoys staying active, coaching law students for international competitions, and going out to eat.

Kim
Kim is a food + lifestyle photographer and recipe developer specializing in gut-friendly recipes + is the co-founder/co-coach of $10K Under 10K + the Brand Work Boss Academy.
Kim began working with brands when she had under 1,000 followers in the fall of 2020 when she realized that her recipe development knowledge + photography skills could stand on their own regardless of the size of her social media following.
With a robust resume in TV and digital advertising + in the fashion industry as a wardrobe stylist + retail buyer in NYC, Kim brings her creativity, knowledge of analytics, negotiation and superior client relations into her work with $10K Under 10K. Her favorite thing to do is teach creators how to ask for what they deserve when it comes to rates, negotiate like a boss, be an excellent partner and use data to tell a story brands simply can’t argue with!
Whether you want to view her as your personal cheerleader or the anti-corporate crusader (her self-appointed nickname, Kim has long considered herself an advocate for the entrepreneurial lifestyle!), Kim is so excited to help you crush your goals + create your dream business through the Brand Work Boss Academy or 2:1 Coaching!
Speaking of entrepreneurship, Kim comes from a family with a long history of entrepreneurship. Her great grandfather made shoes for a living and two of her great-grandmothers have a history in the food + beverage business. Kim’s great-grandmother Ursula made gin + vodka during prohibition in her bathtub as a means to support her family and her great-grandmother Marie was a well-loved chef with her own local community cooking show. Her mother, brother, uncle and grandfather are all entrepreneurs, too, so this life is in her blood!
When she’s not busy working (which, as a Manifesting Generator for you Human Design fans, is something Kim LOVES to do!) you can find her practicing yoga, working on interior design projects in her home + continuing to hone her photography skills, something she is super passionate about. Kim lives with her husband Nick + rescue pitbull Julia in Providence, RI.
