- I have participated in multiple company sponsored Leadership Retreats
- I fired my boss by replacing my 6 figure corporate salary within 7 months of joining my direct sales company
- I now schedule work around my time with my kids, instead of my kids around my work
- My wife and I are living life on our own terms
The last 3 years have been incredible (but it didn’t start out that way).
Just a few years ago I would not have believed you if you told me my life would look like this.

In 2013 I had enough of the corporate America.
I worked for the same company for 15 years. I started my sales career on the phone making cold calls. I got really good at it. Over the years my income and closing rates went up. I worked my way into upper management. I was working a ridiculous amount of hours (60-70 per week). While I was making decent money in corporate America, I didn’t spend any time with my family. Couple that with all the drama and office politics, I was constantly tired and stressed out.
Then things started to change.
You see, when the market crashed back 2008, that was the first year that I earned less income than the year before. As the recession continued my company froze pay increases, cut our commissions, reduced our benefit packages and started making little changes that over time that led to me working more and more hours for less and less pay.
I was told that these reductions were temporary and was promised that things would pick back up.
So as a good company man I stuck with it.
Unfortunately the company made a couple of bad decisions and things didn’t pick back up.
Before I knew It I Was Absolutely Buried In Debt

My company they eliminated our medical benefits. I had to get private insurance which we found out did not have maternity coverage. Thus when we had our twins I literally… had to foot the bill.
Thinking back, the craziest part about all of that is that my wife and I thought we were doing everything right…
We did what everyone told us to do growing up.
We went to school (I joined the military), Got the good grades, Got decent jobs and worked our way up…

My financial life was a disaster…
I knew that I needed to do something but I just wasn’t sure what…
That’s when I found a Craigslist Ad that changed my life…
Sounds Weird Right?!
I was posting ads on there for my company to hire more sales people to work in one of our call centers. While researching the competition I came across an ad that looked a little different than the others. I clicked on it to see what it was.
In the end it was an opportunity to get into direct sales, network marketing and real estate investing.
I was a bit skeptical at first. Over the years I had tried multiple businesses. I wasn’t able to get any of them off the ground. They wanted me to talk to my friends and family. Use the old memory jogger, have at home parties and hand out sizzle cards to everyone that I met.
They all scoffed at me when I spoke about leveraging the internet to find more qualified prospects. They all said the same thing “It’s a numbers game and to just keep throwing spaghetti at the wall and some people would eventually stick. The leaders would rise to the top.”
Sound familiar?
I loved the model of direct sales & network marketing.
I disagreed with the lead generation and prospecting systems they had in place…
It just didn’t make sense to speak to random people about my business…
It reminded me of my original days in sales on the phone making cold calls out of the phone book.
I wanted to speak with people who were actually interested in my business. People that were actually looking for the products I was selling.
I struggled at first… I bought just about every course out there for generating leads online, attended several workshops, internet marketing summits. You name it I probably tried it. I have literally spent THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS on my marketing education.
Time For A Soap Box Moment…
“Here’s the problem with the internet. There are literally millions of pages online with some guru giving you advice on how to generate leads online. The problem today is that people are buying these fast start programs and courses. There is always a “NEW” tactic that someone is promoting. Most of these tactics only have to do with getting traffic and writing slick headlines.
If you want to add more clients & attract leaders to your business all you need to do is:
Connect, Convert and Leverage – When I figured this out my business exploded!!!
I started working with a coach. Someone who had been through the fire and paid the price to be successful. He mentored me in the right direction, helped me cut through all the internet fluff and literally walked me through how to attract leaders to join my business and convert my sales leads at a higher level. Also how to do it using a leveraged system that saved me a ton of time.
If you want to play at the top you need to find leaders. Period!
If you want to max out your comp plan and create true leverage in your business, you need to attract leaders and then have a system in place to teach those leaders to then attract leaders of their own.
With this constant flow of leads leadership potential, I’ve been able to become one of the top leaders and income earners in my company.
Now to be clear, I couldn’t have gotten here if I didn’t take any Action.
If you truly want to make it to the top of your company’s comp plan and make high 6 or 7 figures you are going to have to take massive action…
You control your own success in this industry.
Many people blame their up line or circumstances outside themselves for in their success.
Recognize the value you are bringing to people’s lives.
Whatever your business is, your products, services or opportunity you have the power to change people’s lives for the better. Never be afraid to share your opportunity with others.
Anything is possible for you and other people when you decide to truly take action in your business, invest in yourself and become the leader that others want to follow.
Dive into your business 100%
You will get out of your business exactly what you put into it. Too many people see their network marketing or direct sales business as a “hobbie”.
If your business always gets the back burner…. then so will your results.
Connect with top performers and find a mentor.
There’s an old saying that you shouldn’t take advice from people that you wouldn’t trade places with.
If you really want to make it in this business then learn from people that are doing what it is that you want to be doing. Those that are earning the amount that you would like to be earning. Leverage their experience so you can get to where you want to be faster and easier than you ever thought possible.
The easiest way to be successful is simply to model the success of other people. There is no need to re-invent the wheel. Make life easy on yourself and don’t be afraid to invest in coaching and training with the right person for you.
