Webinar Details:
Executive function is the ability to make decisions and act on them. We use three key tools that help us to complete task processing: working memory, imagination for modelling and predicting outcomes and acting, (sometimes against our emotional impulses). The secondary effects of executive function challenges are anxiety and becoming overwhelmed. Understanding executive function can help children and adults to utilise a strengths based approach to completing activities, while feeling less stressed.
The following questions will be covered in this 60-minute session:
1. Cognitive differences in attention, memory, and information processing.
2. The role executive functioning plays in social skills, success at school and independence.
3. Strategies to support execute function in a range of environments.
4. Using a strengths based approach to support life-long executive function development.
NOTE: This webinar is INTERACTIVE. This means you will be invited to respond to discussion questions, share your experience, give your opinion, and, of course, ask questions of your own! (all participation is voluntary)
