Conscious Life Design 

 

Conscious Life Design is a six-week live online course hosted by Katie Elliott.

 

The course will help you to get clearer about:

  • your unique style of being and doing in the world
  • what matters to you
  • where you want to get to
  • simple, everyday steps you can take to get there

 

This is for you if you’re trying to find a sense of purpose, direction and clarity of action in a world that’s changing fast. 

Course structure

 

Start here (week 1)

One-to-one session with Katie exploring where you're starting from and exactly what you want to get from the course.

 

Noticing (week 2)

Learn to tune into the essential information you already have about what makes you tick.

 

Meaning (weeks 3 and 4)

Now that you’re more in touch with your individual way of being, we'll go deeper into an exploration of your personal purpose, values and gifts.

 

Design (weeks 5 and 6)

Having got clear about what matters to you, you'll use simple, evidence-based strategies to create practical, everyday behaviours to help you get from where you are to where you want to be.

There will be a maximum of 15 participants. This will ensure that everyone will get plenty of opportunity to explore, share, be listened to and receive one-to-one support.

 

We’ll spend some of the time all together, but much of it working in very small groups.These will change each week, so you’ll have the chance to connect and work with lots of different people. There’ll also be opportunities for personal reflection, both during and between sessions.

 

From the first step to the end of the journey, we’ll take an experimental approach, encouraging deep listening and respect, both towards other participants and - most radically - towards ourselves.

 

We'll draw on concepts from psychology, philosophy and behavioural science to help shift old thinking, form new habits and find a gentler approach to getting the best out of ourselves.

 

The next Conscious Life Design course will start in early 2021.

Optional extras

 

The six-week Conscious Life Design is a complete process in itself. However, if you're eager to build on what you're discovering in the course, you might like to explore two additional complementary options:

 

1. Core Gift Discovery© process:

​One 90-minute one-to-one session to be taken between weeks 2 and 5 of the course

 

"Designed over a twenty-year period, the Core Gift Discovery© process has been completed with thousands of people from many walks of life.

 

The process has five steps and takes approximately 1½ hours to complete, resulting in your individualised Core Gift Statement

 

The entire process is designed to draw out your unique YOU. Unlike other popular strength-finding assessment tools, the Core Gift process doesn’t ask you to choose from pre-determined choices, doesn’t compare you to other people, and doesn’t place you into pre-determined “This is you” categories as a result of your answers. 2. Follow-up one-to-one coaching:

​120 minutes of one-to-one coaching to take place within six months of the end of the course

 

If you'd like extra support and accountability after the course finishes, you might find it helpful to plan in some one-to-one coaching sessions. These can be taken as two 60-minute or four 30-minute blocks to suit you and can be used to help you adjust your goals, routines and habits to keep yourself on track.

Hi, I'm Katie...

 

Having spent the last few years exploring simple, evidence-based ways to help myself transform my own life*, I've learned a lot about behaviour change - the hard way.

 

Along the road, I've discovered that there are a number of things it's helpful to understand if you want to change the way you're living. For example, it helps to have:

  • a well-developed sense of self-awareness
  • the ability to tune into the things you know, but don't realise that you know
  • a spirit of gentleness and self-compassion
  • a willingness to prioritise curiosity and experimentation over judgement
  • an understanding of how to set meaningful goals
  • a basic knowledge of how to form new habits and shift old ways of doing things
  • clarity around your personal values
  • an awareness of the unique combination of skills and gifts you bring (and the difference between the two)

I'm passionate about creating safe, welcoming, attentive spaces in which people can come together to learn from themselves and one another in improvisatory, playful, mutually-supportive ways.

 

Aside from significant personal experience of behaviour change, I'm the host of the Adventures in Behaviour Change podcast (interviewing top experts from the fields of psychology and behavioural science), the founder of Little Connections (facilitating nearly 150 conversations between strangers from all around the world), the inventor of Amiko Cards (the self-care reminder tool), the creator and host of DO Notice (a live, online workshop in partnership with the DO Lectures), and a certified Master Facilitator of the Core Gift Discovery© Process.
