THE CALM DOG PROGRAM
- FROM FEARFUL TO CALM
Join the Calm Dog Program so you can take your dog from fearful and anxious to calm and composed.
You know your dog is anxious but you just don’t know how to help them and so far nothing you tried has worked.
Some days feel great. Your dog seems happy and playful and you think maybe the problem has resolved.
But other days are a real struggle. Your dog seems anxious, barks, whines and doesn’t listen to you.
You’ve already been searching for answers and trying some different methods and maybe even hired a trainer to help you but nothing seems to be working.
There is a part of you that feels like you should be able to figure this out. But...
You need to get the right information and support to get results!
Whether you’re a new dog parent or experienced, in some cases you just don't need any more dog training.
Whether you’re just starting out at training dogs or if you are an experienced dog parent please know that you can solve common problem behaviors like barking, lunging, growling and more.
Wondering WHERE you should start?
WHAT exactly you need to do to finally see some results?
And WHICH next steps to focus on so that you’re not wasting any more money and time?
Then here’s what you need to know….
The reason you haven't made progress so far is because
🐾 You're trying to use regular training to solve a problem that isn't a training problem, but an emotional one
🐾 The problem needs to be solved from the inside out
I can tell you this because that’s what I’ve done with my own dogs and with my client’s dogs as I’ve been working as a veterinary behaviorist for over a decade.
When I first started learning about dog behavior I was trained in the old school, punitive dog training methods and it ended up costing my dog’s life.
In veterinary school I got my first introduction to behavior therapy and I did some research that showed me that over 20% of all euthanasias of dogs are because of behavior problems.
This is an alarming statistic and I knew that I wanted to dedicate my career to helping people manage their dog’s behavior so they wouldn’t have to end up like that.
After graduating I went on to take a second degree in Small Animal Behavior Counseling, from the University of Southampton, in the UK.
I started working in general practice as a small animal veterinarian in Reykjavik, with a special focus on behavior medicine.
Since 2015 I have I have been working exclusively with behavior medicine and I practice mostly online, with clients all over the world.
You’ll move forward and see results with your dog when you first know where you are, what you want AND how to get there.

Why you should join
As a dedicated dog parent you want what's best for your dog. Your dog's happiness is important for you. But sometimes you need information and support to make sure that you are doing the right things for your dog.
Go through a tried and tested program with your dog. The Calm Dog Program works. When you work through the modules with your dog you will notice them becoming less fearful and anxious. Your dog will start relaxing and enjoying life more and unwanted behaviours like barking, growling and lunging will gradually reduce and fade away.
Feel confident as a dog parent. When you go through the modules you will start to understand your dog much better and be able to connect with the dog on a deeper level. You will understand the basics of learning theory and all the things you can do to relieve your dog from the anxiety.
Get behaviour advice, learn the best methods to raise and train your dog and avoid behaviour problems. Get mental health advice for your dog so you can solve any behaviour issues that come up.
Be part of a supportive community, members of the happy healthy dogs society have unashamedly "gone to the dogs" and we talk about anything and everything that relates to our dogs. The group is monitored by professionals so you never have to worry about getting bad advice or negative comments.
Have access to a veterinary professional on demand. Sif the Vet is a licensed veterinarian with a degree in small animal behavior so she can answer questions about your dog's physical health as well as mental health.
