History
People drew pictures even before they learned how to write. Like other art forms, drawing has changed and developed through history. Even though graphite was mined in the 16th century, artists drew with pieces of natural graphite, inserted into a pencil holder.
Introduction
Today I hope to give you a brief overview of a couple of techniques using graphite. Here is a cool trailer I put together for my course.

Raffaello Sanzio
I share a bit about the artist Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, and some techniques that he used. Raffaello Sanzio known as Raphael, was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance. His work is admired for its clarity of form, and ease of composition.
