Hi! I'm Sheila Darling. I am your Life Transition Coach.
I coach people who are in transition; marriage and relationship, divorce, parenting, health, grief, retirement, career, day to day life changes or a different kind of change in life paths.
When you coach with me, you have the option of meeting with me 1:1 or in a group with other like-minded women, all discovering their own path through a life transition.
My transition to Life Coach, after being a Psychotherapist for 35 years, was one of the most challenging and fulfilling experiences of my life.
Here are some examples of other life transitions that I have experienced:
-
My first experience with loss and grief was when the first boy I loved moved across the world, never to be seen again. Then again when I divorced and again when my mother died.
-
Then came marriage, children, infidelity and divorce. A shit storm of emotion at this phase of my life, everything from love, joy, shame, isolation and fear. I was spinning in all of it. The remarriage, step-parent, blended family of his-mine and ours was next. I am still in awe that we just celebrated 22 years of marriage and we have all our limbs intact. (me, hubby and the kids)! With this life phase came joy, fear, overwhelm and a great sense of accomplishment.
-
Then we have the parenting an addict part which is a never ending cycle of grief, loss, pain, joy, love, shame and guilt. All this while getting an MSW and an MBA while holding down a full-time job and a family (kick ass courage mixed with a little crazy).

Through it I found tenacity, boldness, courage and pride while trying to start my own business, failing over and over until I found success in what I love. I just celebrated 10 years as a Life Coach!
Continuous personal growth as a lifelong learner, I am a Certified Hypnotherapist and Level 2 Mindfulness Meditation Teacher. I am a NYS Licensed Master Social Worker and made my career pivot to Life Transition Coach in 2019.
None of these transitions were easy. Each of them were completely necessary for me to become the me I am today.
The way I experienced them led me to purposefully create the life I enjoy now with intention.
