Take what works for you and run with it!
Have you been overwhelmed on your journey of personal development? Have you been looking and looking and just haven’t found anything that has worked for you long term? Have you gotten frustrated with yourself because you just can’t seem to find that “one thing” that is the “answer” to all of your problems? Well, that is part of the problem you may be having. You are looking for one thing that is going to fix everything. The only thing in this world that can fit that description is duct tape!! HAHA. In all seriousness though…there is not one thing that will magically change you. It is going to be a ton of little things that you find for you that make the difference.
I created the AMAZE Yourself System as a guide to help you put a lot of little things in your toolbox, so that along the way you can always have something at hand that works for you. You will put things in this toolbox that you may use just one time in your life, others that you will use every day and then there will be things you use and then throw out because they stop working for you. You may put them back in your tool box years down the road when they are more relevant again, but whatever it is, you will find what works for you.
The AMAZE Yourself System is broken into 5 categories because life throws so many different things at us all of the time we will need to draw from these 5 categories randomly. It is never a linear path of how to use the system, but you will find that just using the reminder mantra of AMAZE YOURSELF, you will begin to scan the list and find what works for you in the moment. Sometimes you will immediately need to remove yourself from a situation and go out into nature and in other moments you may need to call a friend or go out for coffee. Without knowing it, we are assessing our situation and then addressing our mindset. It is with continued use of the AMAZE Yourself system you will be able to begin changing the self talk you have in every situation and you will start facing life in a different manner.
So, why doesn’t the AMAZE Yourself system give you specific steps to follow? Thats easy…because everyone is different! What worked for me may or may not work for you. I can suggest the things that worked for me to be able to change my overwhelming negative self talk to positive and uplifting self talk in most situations. I can tell you what worked for me to be able to start lifting my vibration in situations where I was surrounded by negative people, but it doesn’t mean that you will be able to use it the same and for it to help you in the same way that helped me.
You need to start finding the things that work for you. File them under one of the AMAZE Yourself letters and when you remind yourself to go through the AMAZE acronym, you will find the thing that you need in that moment to help you get through. Know that in the moment now, one of the things you have filed in there may work, and then it may fade off and not give you the same great results. When you notice this, find a new tool to add that works better.
For example, I used to use the Zen category a lot. When I was at my lowest times and had extremely negative self talk I would go on a drive about 20 minutes up into a little wooded area near my house and sit next to a small stream. I would breathe in the beauty from the nature I was surrounded by and I could release all of my problems and raise my vibrations. As I got better at connecting to myself and being able to raise my vibration it no longer took a drive up the road, but just a walk down the street, and then finally now I can just sit and take in the beauty of the sky and palm trees in my backyard. I do a breathing exercise and I am clear.
It is different for everyone as to what level of clearing and connection they need. Some people will do yoga. Some will do meditation and really connect to themselves mentally. It is really not something I can tell you what to do, but suggest that you try out all of these things and find what works for you. When you get in that situation and you know you need to release and calm (where for me it is when I am about to blow up at my kids) you will be able to get to that point, just by reaching into your tools from the AMAZE Yourself System and feel better.

People will have suggestions for you all of the time.
When people suggest something that worked for them, be open and really listen. There may be even a small part of their suggestion that could work for you. Try not to discount anything before you actually try it for yourself. One suggestion that I fought for a very long time is getting up an hour earlier to get yourself on track for the day. I said there was no way I could do it, and then one day I said, “what the heck, I’m going to try it!”. For the past 4 months now I get up at 5 or 5:30 and have so much amazing time to myself to connect and prepare for my day. I feel better and I am much more productive. I couldn’t believe I could feel better when I was losing some sleep, but I also started going to bed earlier and taking better care of myself when I did this.
Be open. Find what works for you. Add, subtract, change out, and modify the things that work for you and stay committed to your growth. If you are committed to you and your growth, you will be able to use all of the tools you put in and you will notice when you need to change something up because you have grown and now need a different kind of tool to help you.
