ShareLingo Partnership
ShareLingo is committed to most schools ~ but especially K-12 ~ have a growing need for language exchange.
We can tailor a program specifically to address this problem in your school or district!
As a teacher, you can relate to the disparity of educational measures between the performance of minority students and their Caucasian peers.
The Achievement Gap can be observed in everything from standardized test scores, GPA, dropout to college enrollment and socioeconomic standing.
Research shows that this achievement gap is directly influenced by the literacy gap (Barone, 2006)... which affects students' ability to access core education materials and even communicate effectively.
Students who attend school speaking a different language or not understanding the 'academic language' of school struggle to meet literacy requirements, and often feel overwhelmed in the classroom.

Frequently asked question
If you don't find the answer to your question here, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us directly!
The ShareLingo Project is a Social Enterprise that connects English and Spanish learners to share language and culture. We do this by bringing English and Spanish speakers together to teach each other. A bilingual facilitator uses our proprietary materials to keep everything moving. It’s amazing!
Meetup groups are great, and we highly encourage you to go. Meet as many people from as many different countries and cultures as you can! But in our experience, Meetup groups are not normally guided (by a facilitator) and they have specific interests in mind. They are not created to pair English/Spanish speakers one-on-one to help each other.
Traditional classroom language learning methods, while also often beneficial, tend to focus on vocabulary and grammar. There is little or no opportunity to PRACTICE the new language.
For example, many ESL classes here in the United States have people from Mexico, Japan, Germany, and lots of other countries learning English together. So the materials are just based on learning English words and phrases. But who do the people practice with? Each other! Imagine if you were learning French and practicing only with someone from Japan or Germany who is also learning French. Doesn’t make sense, right? Wouldn’t you want to practice with a native French speaker?
The ShareLingo Project brings English and Spanish learners together, face-to-face, to practice with each other and build confidence and experience. Simple, right?
Classes for businesses are based on specific sectors (health, finance and banking, hospitality, education, construction, etc.), and are normally $400 per participant for a 10-week language and diversity course.
We do classes for individuals and non-profits at half the corporate rate ($200, or about $10/hour), which is really inexpensive for this kind of immersion/private tutor environment.
We also offer discounts, sponsors, and subsidies for causes, schools, non-profits, new students, and more.

We bring 5 English learners and 5 Spanish learners into a room together, and a bilingual facilitator helps them learn from each other. It’s kind of like little groups of private tutors. Classes normally meet for 2 hours, once or twice a week, for 10 sessions. They are held in many different locations, and at different times on different days.
The ShareLingo Project has created a program to help people who want to SPEAK Spanish with human beings, not just apps and computers. We begin with a 7 week online COURSE to teach the participants how to be successful speaking Spanish.
The online course is available 24/7. It helps you set your own goals and identify what to focus on. It teaches you the ShareLingo model and method - so you know exactly how to practice with Spanish speakers without any fear or feeling self-conscious. And it includes ShareLingo's bilingual materials - so you never worry about WHAT you can practice together.
To join or form a ShareLingo group, follow the links above for Individuals, Businesses, or Non-Profits, or call us at 303-835-7399 today and we will help you get started.
We don’t have a central school. We want ShareLingo classes to be held where they are needed! Think of the ShareLingo Project as kind of a “language outreach” program, where classes are being held in offices, conference rooms, schools, hospitals, hotels, etc. all over town (and, someday soon, all over the country).
If you would like to help us get a class going near you, we would love to make that happen. Just contact us!
