Advanced
Adventurer
The SSI Advanced Adventurer course broadens your diving horizons once you are a certified diver.
Learn about the following 5 types of dives when you do this course with Livingseas:
- Deep
- Navigation
- Perfect Buoyancy
- Waves, Tides, and Current
- Boat
These are the most useful 5 specialty dives you can do, and you will be using this in all of your future diving. We also emphasize using an SMB on every dive.
The course is a minimum of 2 days and 6 dives, but 3 days and 9 dives gives you more time to master these skills.
Rescue
Diver
The Rescue Diver course teaches you the more common diving accidents and what you will have to do in case there is an emergency.
On this course, you will go through:
- 1 day of academic and pool session
- 2 days of diving with 3 dives on each day.
At Livingseas, our focus is on prevention rather than just the cure, and our emphasis will be on team diving and rescue and making sure that you never have to perform a rescue.
Dive
Master
The Dive Master course is the first step to a professional level for divers.
The course includes an interesting theory course called the Science of Diving, and the practical aspects are taught in the Dive Guide program.
With Livingseas, this course will challenge you to raise your standards of how diving can and should be conducted.
We conduct this course with 2 components, the theory and skill training that lasts 1 week, and an internship period which lasts until you feel confident enough as a real dive leader.
Assistant
Instructor
Your first step into teaching formal classes, the Assistant Instructor course will guide you on what is the best way to teach diving to new divers.
You will be challenged not only on your diving knowledge, but also your diving and communication skills.
The course will take 7 days, and is a mix of academic, confined water, and open water presentations.
Technical
GUE
Fundamentals
The GUE Fundamentals course is considered the gold standard in diving skills and education.
This is a diving master class conducted over 4 intense days, designed to build not only your diving skills, but also your mental awareness and mindset towards diving as a team.
Deco
Diver
Decompression Diver is your first step into learning more about doing decompression dives.
On this course, you will go through:
- 1 day of theory and training dives
- Another day full of training dives
If you prefer doing multi-day dives on a week long liveaboard trip, and averaging 3 to 4 dives a day, then this course will allow you to safely execute those dives by doing up to a maximum of 15 mins of deco and a depth limit of 40m.
To take the course. you have to:
- Have the deep diving and EAN40 specialty certifications
- Have at least 24 dives
- (We recommend you to also have the Science of Diving specialty certification)
Extended Range
Foundations
The SSI XR Extended Range Foundations is geared towards learning about gear configuration in preparation for more technical dives.
On this course, you will go through:
- 1 Day of equipment configuration and training dives
- Another day full of training dives
This is a skills based course, and builds your stability and control in the water, readying you for your next deeper step into diving.
To take this course, you have to:
- Be a certified Open Water Diver
- Have at least 24 dives
Extended Range
Trimix
The Extended Range Trimix course allows you to start using helium based gases to start conducting dives up to 45m.
On this course, you will go through:
- 6 days of diving
- 3 dives on each day
This course can be conducted in both backmount and sidemount configurations.
To take the course, you have to:
- Have a certification in Deep Diving, EAN40, and Science of Diving Specialties
- Have done at least 50 dives
This is your first step in becoming a technical diver!
Ecological
Coral
Identification
Knowing what you are seeing underwater will always give you a deeper sense of satisfaction.
Corals are perhaps the most commonly overlooked part of the diving experience, as they form the "background" of your dive.
However, without the corals, there would be nothing else there to see!
On this course, you will go through:
- 1 Day of theory and 3 dives.
- 1 day of 3 Coral ID dives
And in order to take the course you need to be a certified Open Water Diver.

Conservation
The ultimate sign of love and respect has to be doing something good for what you love.

Albert delivered the course very professionally, and he taught me if something happens during your dive, you know what to do. A lot of people have told me that being an advanced diver is enough, but in my opinion, it's worth it to take the Rescue course. We never know what could happen underwater. I'm diving with Livingseas to learn about Coral ID, this time with Leon himself. So, my diving experience with Livingseas has been really amazing. I did 2 days of diving. On the first day, we learned about the coral ID itself, and even learned to pick up several corals that are still alive and we can still give them a second chance to grow again at the conservation site.
On the second day, we planted the corals that we found yesterday and we planted them on the star itself and I put my name on it. So, I'm really looking forward to their growth for the next few months.
Their staff is very thorough, very detailed. I feel like they put safety above everything. So we would feel really safe diving with all of them. They are all very professional, very friendly as well and they'd go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable in your diving experience.
Although lengthy and thorough, its definitely worth the time and effort to take up this class, I was able to learn the fundamentals, as implied in the name of the course, and definitely my awareness of group diving has improved greatly! I look forward to future classes!
Leon - the Instructor - was very professional, friendly, with an eye for details. He coud pick up even minor difficulties and offer good advice how to correct them. His natural sense of humour added to creating a very nice atmosphere during the course. GUE should be proud to have such an instructor.
Leon was a great asset to us students and an excellent teacher. He constantly focused on improving and pushed us to be better divers than we were on the previous dive.
His feedback was always fair and precise, always encouraging but he let us know what our mistakes were and where we needed to improve.
Watching him in the water was an experience in and of itself, immaculate trim, buoyancy, and perfectly positioned at all times. I thoroughly recommend him to all I know who are interested in improving their diving and the GUE method.

They are first class educators and trainers. Super professional with a huge breadth of experience and skills between them. I felt very safe throughout all the dives due to their diligence and care.
I really enjoyed the structure of the training with a clear and concise outlay before each dive and a patient and detailed debrief so we all soaked up the lessons of what we'd learnt.
The diving itself was just glorious; enough to be challenging but within my own skills set as an Open Water diver.
