IT WASN’T ALWAYS LIKE THIS!
My journey has been filled with challenges but, oh so character building!
As a child having Bells' palsy, a condition that causes facial paralysis, this triggered a lot of experiences of bullying throughout my school days. I suppose I learnt at a young age how to survive being in a constant battle. After having my daughter at 18 years old and navigating life as a single parent, I went on to survive two abusive marriages and had to learn to negotiate life whilst living with and loving an addict.
This has had a great influence on my life, leading me down the path of supporting other women to feel empowered with whatever life throws at them.
I guess my personal journey, although pitted and flawed, has actually been the springboard for my motivation and passion to help women find their own path to self-worth and self-belief.
In 2007, after a period of reflection, I took advantage of an opportunity to travel solo across 4 continents in a year.
This turned out to be one of my most life-affirming and life-changing experiences, beginning a chapter of huge personal growth, and was certainly a catalyst in my decision to give up my successful career in Sales & Marketing, lean into the wind and re-train as a Health & Fitness Coach and Personal Trainer.
The rest, as they say, is history.
History it may be, but it is also my present and my future, because along the way I’ve discovered my ‘place in the universe’ if you like; I’ve discovered my own value, and my particular ability to motivate others. Someone said to me the other day “Steph, you make me believe I really can do this!” and that, to me, is worth more than gold. I suppose you could say I’m good at treating the cause, and not the symptoms.
When I’m not helping women become the best versions of themselves, I can be found taking long walks with my beloved dogs, working with charities that support families coping with addiction, solo travelling the globe and generally breathing in the beauty of life.
I’m also partial to a bit of ice-cream. Okay, a lot of ice cream.
QUALIFICATIONS
I am a Habit Coach and Functional Range Conditioning practitioner with over 12 years experience in strength training (Strongfirst certified), Kettlebells and Boxing. A level one certified Animal Flow Instructor, TRX and VIPR qualified coach.
During that time, I’ve worked with Nike UK, become a UK Athletics Running Leader and have built my own successful fitness brand from scratch.
I was extremely proud to be nominated one of the ‘10 Most Inspirational Business Women of 2022’ by Business Exchange South West.
It was also my great privilege to be a guest-speaker alongside Gail Porter at International Women's Week 2022.
So far, I’ve personally coached more than 1,500 people worldwide, trained over 500 women online, run corporate programmes aboard superyachts, taught fluid-movement retreats overseas and supported recovering addicts on their journey back to mental, physical and emotional strength.
I firmly believe that appreciation and gratitude are the keys to happiness. That, and water (once you get to know me, you’ll find I bang on a lot about water). But that’s another story for another day…..
