What to invest in when you are ready?
The first thing you should ever invest in is TIME, not money. To better use your time, analyse where you need to spend it, eg. appointments, non-negotiable school runs, cooking, cleaning etc. and see what time you have left and implement time to work ON your business, not just IN it. Working on your marketing plan and not just the production of your product or service. Be sure to also make time for yourself, tools down. It is very important to invest in this because it will aid productivity, take it from someone who has suffered way too many burn outs!
Then, when you are ready to invest in your business, you may not be sure exactly what would move you forward. There are three key things to invest in;
- Mindset
- Development
- Accountability
Anything that supports your mindset, whether that is a mindset coach, reading a book or doing a course, is worth every penny! I have worked with multiple mindset coaches, read books, listened to training sessions and I rinse and repeat to keep myself on track.
Development is something that will help your business grow by filling in the gaps in your knowledge. You can learn a lot for free, but you just can't beat that personal support that comes from having a business coach who has walked the walk and is just a few small steps beyond where you are. I have had mentors and coaches since my second year in business and wouldn't be without one now.
Accountability is a tough thing to crack alone. Again, a coach can help with this, but so can a friend or business accountability buddy. I recommend you team up with someone who is going to be very honest with you.
