Jaipur Ruggs is one of India’s largest manufacturers of hand-knotted luxurious rugs and carpets. Started in 1972 as a one-man show, they give work to over 40.000 independent weavers today. The weavers are mostly women from the underprivileged and excluded lowest caste (the untouchables). 

Jaipur Ruggs exceeds 100 Mio. USD turnover and grows every year. The team has won many awards, the company is highly profitable. Its processes and systems are state of the art.

16-year-old Stella Bowles has shaken up the political machinery in Canada at a very young age. At the age of 11 eleven, she did not accept that over 600 illegal straight pipes polluted the river behind her parent’s house and no one took action. She learned how to scientifically analyze the water and measure its pollution. Via Facebook, she started to inform the public about the devastating results. Public interest grew to such an extent, that the local and federal governments had to take action. 

By 2023, over 15 million Canadian Dollars will be invested to replace all 600 illegal straight pipes with septic tanks. Today, 16-year-old Stella trains teenagers to fight pollution by learning how to analyze situations and mobilize people. 

What makes Stella 5D is that she saw what goes wrong, took action, and kept on going until her objective was reached. She has demonstrated that the voice of everybody matters and age is just a number. Stella is a living example proving that it is possible to mobilize people by speaking up and asking the right questions to change the status quo. She did that to an extent that inactive governments had to start to move.
