Miami & Broward Youth for Christ History
Miami& Broward Youth for Christ works together with other like-minded partners to help young people make good choices, establish a solid foundation for life, and positively impact the world around them. We are committed to empowering the children, youth, and families of our community by providing faith-based services that enhance their emotional, spiritual, physical, and educational well-being through our educational and outreach programs.
Since 1948, Miami & Broward YFC has had a distinctive history of youth outreach in Miami-Dade County. The YFC organization was incorporated in 1945 and the Miami chapter was incorporated three years later with the mission of positively impacting young people everywhere by working together with the local community. In 2024, Broward YFC merged with us, bringing their own rich history of youth outreach. Together, we continue to serve and positively impact the youth in both Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
Miami & Broward Youth for Christ provides free educational and outreach programs that are inclusive and accessible to all children and youth throughout Miami and Broward County. Through its programs, Miami & Broward YFC seeks to provide an environment for positive youth development, thereby enabling these students to reach their full potential in life. There are five programs under the umbrella of Miami & Broward YFC: MYLI (Miami Youth Leadership Initiative), Campus Life, Catalyst Hip-Hop, Juvenile Justice Outreach, and City Life KIX.
In total, Miami & Broward YFC offers 35 programs per week at 12 different sites throughout Miami-Dade and Broward County, serving over 6,000 students per year.
